money cake

Count D and I are just trying to stay high in New Jersey and we won't techno for an answer (har har). Looking for tracks that sound most like rubbing cocaine in your corneas? TRP has your back. Heres some digital sorcery for your boring face.

Voigt is a seminal figure in the Cologne scene and this gem, off Kompakt's always ill Speicher series (seriously, CHECK THESE OUT), might be your standard Kompakt were it not for a few very unique drum sounds- including a perfect swoop, the sound of a thin blade slicing through gravity- that will knock your ass on its face, as well as the most tasteful siren I've heard in a while. Voigt's speicher releases have become hot property, with good reason: he makes poppy techno that is essential Cologne and a must have for all tech-heads.

Metronomy - This Could Be Beautiful

Not like this hasn't gotten play both here and elsewhere, having been featured on Metronomy's stunning debut as well as the second Kitsune maison comp, but I really cannot stress how imperative it is that EVERYBODY with a hard drive dload this song NOW. People seem to have a hard time describing Brighton-based Joseph Mount's music. However, I have the answer: This Could Be Beautiful is what narwhales listen to when fucking.

New Order - Someone Like You (James Holden Heavy Dub)

James Holden has been turning a lot of heads with his new album the Idiots Are Winning. Meanwhile, I'm not too sure about whether getting New Order's 12x12 comp (about 4 and a half hours of remixes which fluctuate pretty wildly in quality) was a great idea. Nonetheless, it was how I found my way to Holden's extended mix of Someone Like You. If only it was all this good... 9 minutes of colliding walls of sound, this is NO seen thru a piece of crumpled cellophane, the sweatiest piece of meat I can give you off the bone.

It's so sexy, just eat it.
